I went to an event called "Wearable Technologies Innovation Contest" and it was basically a competition with different categories, including: wearable for kids, unlocking accessibility through wearables, hotel guest experience through wearables, sensor and tracking performance and plug and play for textiles wearables.
Through the day we listened to pitches of several different companies with different products and some of them were really interesting but others were absolutely terrible. Something that I realised is that a couple of them stated that they did market research but when I heard the definition of the product I question if people would actually wear that. So I'm not sure how their research worked.
It was quite an interesting day because I could talk with lot of different people about my project and about wearables and how they affect people's lives and what it would be the next thing for the market. It's funny to see how some of them don't even consider anything with fashion.
Once again, I met Michelle Hue from Made with Gloves and she introduced me to more people and I could hear her talk and discuss her product with other people, so it was a really good experience.
